The MERU Health Centre is now open!

by | Feb 17, 2020 | Ayurveda

We’re delighted to announce that the Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre has just re-opened in the Boshotel near MERU’s Vlodrop campus.

After a short transition period following the closure of our St. Odiliënberg facility, this re-opening in the Boshotel is a beautiful step towards our ultimate vision – the vision to host the Health Centre in the precious, purifying atmosphere of Maharishi’s campus.

In the meantime, we are thrilled to bring the Health Centre so close to MERU. Just two kilometres from the MERU campus, the Boshotel is a five-minute drive away from the many activities in Vlodrop, including Vedic celebrations, knowledge courses, regular Advanced Techniques, and retreats. And in the comfortable four-star guest rooms of the Boshotel, we’re confident you’ll be able to completely enjoy yourself while taking the time for your health and well-being.

Take note that from 8 February until 30 April, the Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre is offering a 10% discount on all treatments. To make use of this discount, book soon via the meru health centre’s website.

What exactly is Maharishi AyurVeda?

AyurVeda means ‘the science of life’ and comes from the ancient Vedic tradition of India, where this body of knowledge has been practised for more than 5,000 years. AyurVeda is said to be the world’s most ancient and complete science of natural medicine, providing a wealth of knowledge and time-tested therapies to promote health and well-being in both mind and body.

For centuries, the custodians of this knowledge neglected to maintain its wholeness and purity, leading to a decline in its knowledge and practice until 1980. It was at this time that Maharishi gathered the foremost experts of AyurVeda to enliven this age-old knowledge in its completeness.

In keeping with Maharishi’s desire, the purpose of our Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre is to provide holistic, prevention-oriented, and natural health care to everyone – so we can all enjoy perfect health, and ultimately enlightenment.

The Maharishi AyurVeda Panchakarma treatments rejuvenate and purify the body of toxins and impurities, enhancing ‘Ojas’ (translated as ‘vitality’) and Sattwa (translated as ‘purity’). In doing so, these treatments enliven the body’s own natural healing mechanisms to bring about good health and well-being.

Before receiving a treatment at the Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre, the Vaidya (Maharishi AyurVeda expert) will read your pulse to determine your state of health and detect any imbalances. On this basis, the Vaidya will carefully select a treatment customised to your needs and will oversee the treatments so that you restore balance on all levels of your consciousness, mind, and body.

Our Health Centre staff conducts all treatments at the Maharishi AyurVeda Health Centre according to authentic, traditional procedures as prescribed by the Vaidyas. Panchakarma programmes include a specialised cleansing diet and several consecutive days of deeply relaxing Ayurvedic treatments.
